LATEST QUILT

I just had to pull myself away from Clive Cussler's book, The Navigator.  Hard to do when the book is so involved.  I have read most of his books and overall they are an intense read.

Mister had a funeral that we had to attend.  You know, one of those obligatory kind of things.  Four grandchildren spoke and more or less said the same thing.  2 would have been enough.  Then a soloist sang "In Her Rocking Chair".  The voice was absolutely gorgeous but the song was sooo sappy and waaaayyy over the top.  Then a former bishop rambled on and on and on.  I hope none of them ever read this blog.  And my funeral hadn't better be boring.

Mister also developed some kind of eye infection that his doctor had no idea what it was so sent him to an eye specialist.  Turns out the oil glands that keep the eye moist were clogged up and a pouch of gunk gathered at the bottom under the skin.  He had to have it lanced which pushed all of his "don't hurt me" buttons.  Now when he tells you about, just listen patiently because it will take a lot longer than this to tell about it.

I finished a quilt.  It turned out beautiful.  I have decided that when I finish a quilt, that it has to be given away.  I don't want to collect them and just have them laying in closets.

It is the size of a baby quilt but big enough to cuddle with.  I cut squares. Lots of squares.  I thought I had cut enough for 2 quilts.  Not so!  I made a grid on the white muslin and placed the squares where I wanted them.
Then I glued the squares with a small dot of glue and then sewed the grid in place.
This was the result.  It is beautiful.  After I washed it, it needed a good hair cut.  While making this colorful quilt, I knew who it would go to.  Our little Livvie.  She took to it in her own way.

We all love Olivia.  And Sophie, I'm looking for something just right for you.  And all you other cousins, you just have to wait.

Laurie,
That is the cutest quilt I've ever seen. I love that the bright and vibrant colors fit perfectly with Livy's lively personality.

Dear Aunt Laurie,

Thank you SO MUCH for the absolutely adorable quilt. Olivia loves it! She's snuggled with it quit a bit since she's had it, so I can tell she really likes it.

Although she cannot express herself in words, her excitement and silliness tell us that she was happy to receive it. It will be well-loved.

We all appreciate your kindness & thoughtfulness and are so grateful for all that you have done for us.

Love,

Olivia & her family
